Gain an impression of the European Media & Content Pool, its ventures and VERTEX-TV. Information that goes far beyond one-dimensional facts is exchanged here. Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, they are first processed by the media and then placed in a larger context.

All information on current projects and opportunities can be found in the Investors’ Channel.

Here is what DI Dr. Norbert FRISCHAUF – high-energy physicist and Anchorman for Science, Technology & Innovation at EMCP – has to say about the reality of science:

It ain´t necessarily so from George Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess

Publications (selection)

In addition to numerous publications listed below as examples, the US jazz guitarist Mickey Baker arranged the song for the CD album “A Tribute To Gerswhin”. The Mickey Baker Trio feat. Mary Baker and the Konzertensemble Salzburg under the direction of Franz Königer played it live at the Zurich Opera House1.

  • 2023: VERTEX-TV (working title for a venture of the European Media & Content Pool) uses the song title as a slogan to point out connections and cross-references that are not obvious at first glance. It is important to always question what is proven and generally (sometimes wrongly) assumed – according to the motto: It ain’t necessarily so!2
  • 1962: The first line of It ain’t necessarily so was used as an article title by Hilary Putnam and published in Philosophical Papers, Volume 1: Mathematics, Matter and Method in 1979.3
  • 1943: The Danish resistance interrupted the German Wehrmacht’s victory announcements on the radio with a recording of the song.4

The melody serves as the theme for the role of Sportin’ Life, a drug dealer who uses it to express his doubts about various statements in the Bible. Gershwin was subsequently criticized by composer Hall Johnson, among others, for portraying African-Americans as unfaithful.5

The American pianist and musicologist Howard Pollack states that the phrase It ain’t necessarily so stands in place of Bar’chu et adonai ham’vorach. He points out that the melody and wording are almost identical to the Jewish blessing recited before reading from the Torah.6

Something to enjoy, relax and “reach for the stars”

Astrophotography in time lapse, designed by Rochus Hess.

Another piece of the puzzle that leads to many more questions and these in turn lead to many new pieces of the puzzle – a never-ending series of continuing stories. Let yourself be surprised. And also find the answer to the question of how high the probability of a collision with other galaxies is when Captain Kirk and his crew of the USS Enterprise are traveling through the vastness of space at tens of times the speed of light.

Personalities from culture, business, science, education and the arts meet in the European Media & Content Pool and connect via the publications Relations, RelationsXpert and VERTEX-TV (working title).
